Sujith’s solo exhibitions ‘Jalardram’ at ‘The Art Corridor’ gallery, Mattanchery, Kochi (2012), ‘The Art Corridor’ gallery, Le Méridien Hotel, Maradu (2013) and ‘The Grey’ at Durbar Hall Art Gallery, Kochi (2015) have been well received.
The artist encapsulates interesting side of the rural landscape in his works in very soothing earthy tones. The hutments, trees, foliage, cattle and rocks have been painted in an impressive manner on the canvas. It is a perfect buy for enhancing the interior design of a living room or bedroom.
The paintings bear a connection that is close to the roots. They present a village scene with the cattle grazing in the fields, a grand old tree by the side and birds soaring in the crisp blue sky. The huts made from big rocks and thatched roofs with a street dog guarding in one frame and wild grass in the other paint a perfect picture of the country side.
This colourful art comes in tints of green, yellow and browns are pretty pronounced in the paintings that are soothing to the eye. To sum it up, Sujith’s works depict serenity and make the viewers long for calmness.Less
