Parul Mehra is an artist by passion and an architect by training. She has honed her painting skills under the tutelage of established artists like Shobha Broota, Ritu Sangal and Rohit Sharma (India Habitat Centre, New Delhi). Although she has been composing artworks since her school days and her architectural studies enhanced her experience with colours, textures, materials and dimensions. While working in the construction & interiors industry, she was drawn towards the world of art and is now a full-time artist.

The artist explains, “My art is an expression of my dreams, my world in bright hues. This is an inner journey...a catalogue of my subconscious being and what it infers on the spiritual plane of my daily life. When I paint, its in a meditative state of if in a trance.”

The artist has had a solo exhibition of paintings – ‘In Transcendence’ – at Arpana Caur’s Academy of Art & Literature, New Delhi in 2013 and A New Dialogue’ at Alliance Française de Delhi in 2016 besides participating in several group exhibitions from time to time. Her works have been selected in many art collections.

Parul likes to play with colours and shapes in her colourful modern abstract paintings. The artist pays attention to minute detailing and gives shape to an element or thought leaving it to the viewer to perceive accordingly through their unique thoughts and imagination. Earthy tones and textures spell her cool art which is just right for enhancing one’s home décor.
