Maharasthra, India

Asif Shaikh grew up in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra and elements of the this place reflect in the folds of his masterpieces. He has a diploma in Drawing And Painting from L.S.Raheja School Of Art from Bandra in Mumbai. He has also pursued a diploma in art education from Vasai Vikasini’s College Of Visual Art, Vasai.

He adheres to the themes of the semi abstract and its amalgamation with figurative art. His works resemble fragments of his abstraction, drifting and shifting like specters in the dark,  a combination of predominant shades and contrasting interplay of disjointed patterns. On closer scrutiny of his works the theme of bulls emerge, a symbol of variant connotations that are either ambiguously hidden or inherently manifested.

Asif’s individualistic element that comes out through his work, has garnered him a lot of accolades and he has a multitude of achievements to his name. He has won the DJ Joshi Award and the DHL Infra International Award at Ujjain. He was recently awarded by Praffula Dahanukar Art Foundation. Asif has participated in art exhibitions and group shows all over Maharashtra and held a solo exhibition called Colors Of Life at Pradarshak Art Gallery in Mumbai.

Asif currently resides in Mumbai where he resumes his current vocation of being a Fine Arts, semi abstract artist.
